By the time we were able to fully fund the endowed scholarship the team had gone through a coaching change and many of the players whitney knew were graduated or had left the program. We chose Chayla because she was the last member on the 2017-2018 team to ever meet Whitney. Chayla got to meet Whitney while she was sick and she also attended Whitney's celebration of life.
We were able to watch Chayla grow throughout her career at KU and she is a wonderful person deserving of this scholarship and so much more out of life.
